The Avery County Solid Waste Department is currently collecting electronics at 269 Vale Road on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. This is in compliance with the Session Law 2010-67 that mandates all electronics be recycled and to not be placed into landfills. The list of electronics we take are: All televisions, computer monitors, computer towers, keyboards, mice, and printers. We also collect vacuum cleaner, DVD players, VHS players and stereo components. The hours of operation are from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. There will be someone to help with the electronics at the designated time. If you have a large television, I ask you to bring help to unload. We are located behind the Avery County Board of Education. Our location is the same as the annual Household Hazard Waste Day. Please do not leave your electronic devices outside the building.
Any questions, feel free to contact me at (828) 737-5420.
Thank you, Eric Foster
